F.A.Q.S
Flowers
Q:When is your flower season?
A: Our peony flower season runs from early November to early December (roughly the 5th November to the 10th December). Each year varies according to the season. We farm at the mercy of the weather so please always have an alternative plan for special occasions.
Q: How do I prolong the vase life of my peony flowers?
A: To get the most out of your peonies at home in the vase we suggest that you cut 2cms off the stems and put them in a vase of deep water with the following recipe (if you don’t have a flower food mixture at home):
Per 1L of water
1 tablespoon white vinegar
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon bleach (optional)
Make sure there is 7-10cms of water covering the stems. Replace the water in the vase every day and do not place your flowers in direct sunlight.

Roots
Q: What climate can I grow peonies in?
A: Peonies need cold temperatures to thrive. The minimum requirement to grow peonies in your garden is at least 30 days of day or night temperatures below 6*C. Frosts or snow are ideal conditions for peonies to thrive in. If your climate isn’t suitable to grow peonies you can always send roots to a friend as a gift.
Q: How do I grow peonies?
A: Peonies are relatively hardy plans to grow. We will provide you with growing instructions with your roots when we ship them to you. We are also available to give advice through WhatsApp if you have questions once you have planted your roots. It is best to plant your peonies in full or morning sun spots that get at least 6 hours of sunlight a day.
Q: How do I ensure I am on a waiting list for peony roots?
A: Due to the high demand for our peony roots we keep a waiting list to notify when the roots are ready to be sold in June and July each year. It is best to contact us through our waiting list link.
Let us know your name, cell phone number and where you live and if you think you have a suitable climate to grow peonies.
Q: How long does it take to get flowers from my peony plants?
A: Growing peonies is a test of patience. In year 1 we recommend that you remove all but 1 bud from the plant. This encourages good root establishment and will reward you in years to come with abundant flowers.
Q: How long will my peony plants last?
A: Peony plants last a very long time in gardens. Some plants are thought to be 100 years old in gardens overseas. We generally think that you will get a least 40 years out of your plants. We had peony plants in our garden from Granny Molly, this is what inspired our family to start growing them commercially.
Root shipping
Q: How do you ship the peony roots to me?
A: We courier the roots to you. Your roots will take 3-5 days to get to you.
